I came across an interesting video the other day.
Most of us never think about our origins. We tend to think of ourselves in terms of this nationality or that ethnic group, but really have no clue about our genetic composition.
Personally, I can’t trace my ancestry further back than about 100 or 150 years. I do know that I’m a mix of Polish (Polish aristocracy, in fact, on my mother’s side), Czech, “Germanic”, Celtic, etc. But the very fact I exist today is thanks to hundreds and hundreds of generations that came before me.
No doubt that I have ancestors who lived in Asia and Africa as well.
And if we’re to believe “ancient astronaut theorists”, then we all have at least a bit of Martian DNA in us as well.
Discriminating on the basis of skin colour is, therefore, one of the stupidest things anyone could ever imagine. We are all “Terrans”, and whether you like it or not, we all go back to one man and one woman who, some place some time long ago, decided to procreate and have children.
We can’t say who that man and woman were, and where and when they lived, but we do know that they existed – otherwise, none of us would be here today.
One can certainly discriminate on the basis of common sense, or the lack thereof, but ethnic origin or skin colour doesn’t make a person more or less valuable.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating – everyone should be judged by their actions, not by how they look or “feel”
