Name one bad thing oil sands are NOT responsible for

Is it any wonder that (pro-leftist) mainstream media have become the joke they are? Every day, they give a platform to some of the worst nutters the left can produce, and their insane and morbid thoughts are treated with the kind of reverence usually reserved for the Bible or similar religious icons.

The most recent left-wing nutter to make a laughing stock himself is Matt Price, an “environmental consultant”. In an article for the Huffington Post, he blames Alberta’s oil sands for everything bad or nasty under the sun:

The tar sands industry now faces legal challenges from First Nations, low carbon fuel initiatives in California and the EU, opposition to its pipelines in the U.S., in British Columbia, and in Eastern provinces and states. It faces water pollution concerns from the North, acid rain concerns from Saskatchewan, and jobs concerns in Eastern Canada due to Dutch Disease. It faces calls to reverse its exploding greenhouse pollution from Nobel Laureates, and from Canadians concerned that the industry is unfairly blowing Canada’s carbon budget.

Gee, is there anything left the oil sands aren’t responsible for?

Reading Price’s drivel, it’s not hard to think that he probably also believes the oil sands were the reason the dinosaurs were wiped out, or that the Holocaust itself was precipitated by Alberta’s thirst for oil, rather than a demented and evil individual in Europe.

Price argues that with so much negativity and opposition directed at the oil sands, there’s no denying that all that is the fault of the oil sands (and Albertans). After all, he claims, all those critics can’t all collectively be wrong.

Well, this is where Price’s logic conks out completely. As a matter of fact, it’s not surprising that all those critics should be in agreement, because they all sing from the same hymn book – a list of lies invented by a handful of lefties (such as Al Gore) and disseminated to all who cling to this flawed ideology.

What one must keep in mind is that all “environmental” talk today is far removed from actual environmental issues. What passes for “environmentalism” today is merely code for “extreme socialism/communism”. The whole “man-made global warming” lie and the “dangers” emanating from “greenhouse gases” were created by lefties soon after 1989, the year their whole ideology was discredited for all time, in an attempt to keep their abnormal beliefs alive and push them in through the back door without anyone noticing that they were being sold the same old rotten socialist/communist goods.

What the left is all about is the full annihilation of Western civilization – including its defining elements of prosperity, markets, capitalism, consumerism, etc. This is why lefties support Islamic terrorists, hoping that they can help them do their dirty work of bringing the West to its knees.

Anyone who has any doubts about the mendacious nature of “man-made global warming” can quickly dispel them by recalling that none other than Osama bin Laden “supported” the fight against “man-made global warming”. For bin Laden, returning the West to the Stone Age (i.e., more or less what most of the Middle East is today, both physically and mentally) by letting the enviro types do their worst was the closest and next-best thing to sending out his al-Qaeda army to bomb the entire West into the ground.

In other words, to bin Laden all those enviro fanatics and “global warmists” were useful idiots – a veritable proxy army for al-Qaeda.

Osama may be gone, but al-Qaeda continues on, and so, unfortunately, do their ideological comrades-in-arms among the “environmental” crowd.

Regurgitators like Matt Price should be ashamed of themselves, because they’re not anti-oil or anti-Alberta, but anti-West self-haters. And that is, truth be told, a mental defect.
